The text, drawings, photographs and documents on this site are ours or are published with the permission of the people they belong to. You may read them and quote them with attribution. You may not republish our drawings or documents as your own or use them for a design.

Nothing on this site is engineering advice for your building. Project pages describe what we did for a particular structure under a particular brief; a demonstration is labelled as one and is not a client project. Engineering advice begins with an engagement in writing.

Proposals and engagements

A request sent through this site is an enquiry, not an instruction. Our work for you begins when we both sign a proposal that sets out the scope, the fee, the programme and the responsibilities of each side. That document governs the work, not this page.

The engineering platform

EPSOM provides the platform at app.epsom.co.ke to its own engineers and to people we issue accounts to. An account is personal: keep your password to yourself and tell us at once if you think it has been used by someone else.

The platform is a tool. It analyses and designs within the scope and limitations it states on every report, and it marks each capability with its validation state. A registered structural engineer remains responsible for every design it is used for, for checking its output, and for the decision to issue a drawing or a report. We do not accept responsibility for a design produced on the platform by anyone other than under our own engagement.

You may not use the platform to attempt to gain access to another project, to overload it, to reverse-engineer it, or for any purpose that is unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.

We run the platform with care but we do not promise that it is available at every moment. We keep backups and we keep outputs bound to immutable revisions so your record survives, as the privacy page describes.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for this website and for the platform outside a signed engagement is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us for access to it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction.
